Bay Pines VA Healthcare is seeking a responsible RNs for delivery of nursing care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department with various illnesses, injuries and afflictions including acute coronary syndrome, stroke, psychiatric disturbances, surgical maladies and others. This position will require excellent triage skills, sound clinical judgment, excellent people skills and experience. The RNs will triage, perform phlebotomy and start IVs when indicated. Responsibilities include ongoing assessment and treatment of conditions, administration and titration of cardio-active medications, ACLS as indicated as well as various invasive monitoring modalities, transportation of patients to various units within the hospital and code team responsibilities.

The Candidate should have the expectation of being oriented to the flow of the unit but should be prepared to function as a fully integrated and experienced Nurse. The RNs activities must reflect the highest standards that are consistent with the mission, values, priorities, goals and resources of BPVAHCS. This position will require standing and walking for extended periods of time as well as hearing and vision correct to the near normal range. The position will require the full range of motion and the manual finger dexterity and hand eye coordination to facilitate multiple IV starts and ability to access long term venous access devices. This position is not open to novice nurses.
Work Schedule: Full-Time, OFF Tours, 40 hours per week
