This position is located in the Comprehensive Homeless Center of Excellence in Mental Health Service at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System The Housing Management Assistant (housing specialist) functions as a member of the HUD-V ASH Housing 1st ACT Team. The incumbent is responsible for providing housing services to Veterans in the Housing 1st Program who may or may not be graduates of the RRTP or the HCHV residential treatment programs. Veterans may also be living in local shelters that are approved for referral to the HUD-V ASH program or may be facing eviction or living with family members. Priority for the position will be toward locating housing for Veterans who are chronically homeless. The position will also assume preventive measures for Veterans in danger of eviction or those who may be living doubled up with family members. The principal responsibilities and duties of the Housing Management Assistant are to be performed under the direct supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who serves as a HUD-VASH Lead.
