- Responsible for maintaining control of and accounting for the whereabouts and safety of the children and youth in care
- Assists is maintaining program participant data.
-Supervises children and youth during daily scheduled indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings and special events.
-Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques in a positive nurturing environment.
-Observes participants for signs of illness, abuse or neglect, reporting each as necessary; notes and follows special instructions provided by parents, in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
-Ensures children depart with authorized person according to written parental instructions.
-Prepares, arranges and maintains indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials accommodate daily schedule.
-Sanitizes equipment and toys, noting and reporting any safety concerns.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

This position is located at Porter Youth Center, Fort Ord Military Community. Child, Youth & School Services recognizes the challenges of our Soldiers and their Families. By offering quality programs for children, youth and students, CYS supports the Army Family Covenant by reducing the conflict between mission readiness and parental responsibility. Porter Youth Center is a supervised recreational facility for active duty family members, retired military families and DoD Civilians in the Monterey Bay Military Community. The center offers many activities in which children may participate; preteen dances, parties, lock-ins, arts and crafts, tournaments, tours, table games, indoor/outdoor sports, and instructional classes. Porter Youth Center, in conjunction with School Age Services, provides full day care during the school breaks. Activities during these breaks may include field trips, laser tag, paint ball, and Monterey Bay Aquarium.
