The GVMP operates veterinary treatment facilities (VTFs) on most military installations for the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force. GVMP employees work closely with both Military Veterinary Medical Officers and civilian Veterinarians to provide quality healthcare to privately owned animals and deliver the highest level of customer service while adhering to federal and state guidelines and regulations. Clinical veterinarian sought at Holloman Air Force Base clinic. While position is listed as part time, applicant will have the option to work up to 40 hours a week at $35.91-$40.72 hourly. No overnights, weekends, or on call. You will work closely with Military Veterinary Medical Officers to provide quality healthcare to privately owned animals and deliver the highest level of customer service while adhering to federal and state guidelines and regulations. The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is individuals who live within commuting area (50 miles) or willing to move at their own expense to the commuting area within 2 weeks of selection.

Performs professional veterinary work that involves the investigation, examination, treatment, and control of animals. Diagnoses animal health problems; vaccinates against diseases, such as distemper and rabies; medicates animals suffering from infections or illnesses; treats and dresses wounds, seat fractures; performs surgery; and advise owners about animal feeding, behavior, and breeding. Issues health certificates. Performs and interprets laboratory findings. Maintains health records and prepares reports as necessary. Includes other related duties as assigned.
