The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of the Department of Homeland Security has an immediate need to employ residents of Puerto Rico as temporary local hires to assist with hurricane disaster response and recovery efforts. Local hire employees are local residents who aid in the recovery of the community and help their fellow citizens in the long-term recovery process. FEMA is seeking candidates with experience in communications, floodplain management, cost analysis, civil engineering, site inspections, media relations, flood or casualty insurance, historic preservation, and more.
Temporary, full time local hire jobs are available in San Juan, PR; Aguadilla, PR; Caguas, PR; Manati, PR; Ponce, PR. All candidates must live within a 50-mile radius of their desired location.
Minimum age of eighteen years and US Citizenship are required.
Selected candidates will be required to complete a background investigation which includes fingerprinting.
This announcement will close at 11:59 pm Eastern Time (ET) on Monday, April 16, 2018 OR at 11:59 pm ET on the date the 500th application is received whichever comes first.
