This position is for a Electronics Technician (Radar), Position Description Number D1684P01 located at an Air National Guard (ANG) Air Control Squadron (ACS) at 117 ACN SQ-Hunter AAF, GA.
This is a full-time, Excepted Indefinite, dual status position which requires Georgia Air National Guard Membership. Position is Indefinite however, may convert to permanent without further competition.

As a Electronics Technician (Radar), GS-0856-11, you will:
Ensure that complex air control radar systems are operating at specified technical order (TO) standards and mission requirements.
Independently validate operational readiness of complex radar systems for accurate height, range, and azimuth.
Integrate and maintain various subsystems such as transmitters, receivers, Digital Target Extractors (DTE), Theatre Missile Defense processors (TMD), Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), Situation Display Console (SDC), Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) and Electronic Counter Counter Measures (ECCM).
Utilize an extensive variety of Test, Measuring, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) to analyze, evaluate, test, calibrate, modify, diagnose, and perform corrective repair to assure the integrity of assigned equipment.
Interpret highly complex electronics diagrams and schematics for determining the cause and leading to the repair of equipment malfunctions.
Provide direct customer support which includes field testing and recommending new equipment, site surveys, training, resolving problems related to configuration management, systems functionality, hardware and software configuration, and system conflict resolution.
Monitor the training status of personnel and ensures that supplemental and/or remedial training is accomplished.
Manage bench stock, logistics products, historical records, training records, Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) records, hazardous waste, and safety procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training performing simple mechanical installations and adjustments. Experience which demonstrates the applicant's ability to recognize obvious malfunctions. Experience using common hand tools. Experience that demonstrates the ability to follow written instructions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months specialized experience in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment. Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems. Experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment. Experience in using complex test equipment such as deviation meters, complex special test panels, etc. Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications.

Ability to perform Maintenance Data Collection (MDC) using maintenance data management programs such as the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) and participates in the Maintenance Standardization Evaluation Program (MSEP) processes.
Ability to ensure mobilization readiness of section personnel and equipment.
Ability to fabricate cables and connectors to interface with various commercial and military electronics systems and sub-systems.
Knowledge of managing bench stock, logistics products, historical records, training records, Test Measurement and Diagnostics Equipment (TMDE) records, hazardous waste, and safety procedures.
