This position is located in the Nutrition and Food Services (NFS) in the Allied Health Service Line of the VA Medical Center in Tomah, Wisconsin.
Duties:
- Coordinates the daily work assignments of food service workers.
- Demonstrates proper care, use and cleaning of equipment assuring instructions are followed.
- Reports to supervisor on performance, progress, training needs and disciplinary problems of staff.
- Guides, instructs, and leads food service workers in accomplishing assignments.
- Checks work in progress and finished product to see that supervisor's instructions have been met.
- Maintains current knowledge of policies, procedures, written instructions, etc., in order to answer questions for food service workers and other medical center personnel.
- Monitors food service for conformance with safety, sanitation, and quality standards to include monitoring of refrigeration/freezer temperatures through the TempTrak system.
- Supports the Nutrition and Food Service and medical center policies and procedures and the Labor-Management and Partnership Agreement.
-- Opens and closes the department in the absence of a food service supervisor.
Work Schedule: 5 days a week includes weekends & holidays 10:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
