This announcement provides the opportunity for a reassignment/promotion to the position of Entry Level Auditor or Program Analyst (Audit Evaluator) within the Office of Audit on the OA Cost and Pricing team located in Arlington, Virginia. The OIG conducts performance audits and reviews of multiple Postal Service functional areas. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and have the willingness and ability to learn program and performance audits.
This position is being advertised at the Journey Band level, equivalent to a GS-07 or GS-09. The salary range for this position is $45,972 - $59,762 for GS-07; and $56,233 - $73,105 for GS-09. The salary figures include locality pay. Career ladder to GS-13 equivalent at management's discretion.

This is assignments of average difficulty requiring the application of fundamental principles, concepts, techniques, and guidelines in the area of audit evaluation. Work assignments are selected to provide development in the analytical evaluative aspects of the work and in the appropriate use of such methods and techniques as qualitative and quantitative analysis. The assignments emphasize developing an understanding of the relationships of the concepts underlying the specialty area. It is directed toward the recognition of incipient needs or problems and the identification, analysis and solution of problems. Assignments are pre-selected to combine performance of productive work with supervised on-the-job training in both the judgmental and methodological aspects of the work. While participating as a member of an audit team, team member will progressively contribute more value to assigned audit projects as knowledge, skills, and abilities develop.
