The Nurse positions are located within the Albuquerque Area Indian Health Service. There may not be immediate vacancies at all locations. The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive care to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients at the healthcare facilities within the Albuquerque Area. This position reports to the Director of Nursing at the facility. This announcement covers nursing vacancies for inpatient and outpatient nursing.

Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. IHS may offer newly-appointed Federal employees credit for their directly related previous non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave is earned.

This position may have promotion potential to the GS-09 grade level depending on the how the request is submitted by management when a vacancy is being filled.
