About the Position:
This position is located at the Dalecarlia Water Treatment Plant, 5900 MacArthur Boulevard NW, Washington, D.C. This position is under the supervision of the Washington Aqueduct. The Aqueduct, while part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is a large scale, vital public utility, wholly financed through the sale of potable water. The job provides the opportunity to work at one of the largest water utilities in the nation, serving the public and producing a product which impacts the lives of all metropolitan area citizens and businesses on a daily basis. To be successful in this position, you will need to commit yourself to the Aqueduct's mission of providing safe, reliable and cost effective water.

Serves as Chief, Finance and Accounting officer for Washington Aqueduct Division.
Has full and complete technical responsibility for planning and directing the accounting program, for implementing and maintaining all primary and subordinate accounting systems, for furnishing accounting advice to management and participating in management decisions. Identifies the need for and devises new or revised policies, regulations and procedures designed to implement Baltimore District's and Washington Aqueduct's accounting function. Reviews and takes action on numerous official documents, correspondence, and reports emanating from higher authority, other agencies to include the Bureau of Public Debt with regard to repayment of Treasury Loans, and non- federal entities. Makes decisions on accounting policy matters and technical difficulties encountered throughout the district, directing remedial action for solution of such problems. Reviews the accounting program to determine affect on Baltimore District and Washington Aqueduct's operations.
