This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

As a PURCHASING AGENT, GS-1105-7, you will perform detailed review of purchase requests for specialized supplies, equipment, services, or commercial requirements in terms of adequacy, consistency, un-restrictiveness of specifications or descriptions, compliance with administrative requirements, and certification of funds. Determines procurement source and method. Obtains or develops source list of responsible contractors. Coordinates with Small Business Specialists. Solicits oral or written quotes. If using open market procedures, obtains oral or written quotes. Calls vendors to get oral quotes when delivery is urgent or items are well known. Receives and reviews formal bids and quotes. Prepares award documentation and performs post award follow-up. Maintains accurate purchase information in the procurement automated system on purchasing information. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments. May be required to work overtime. Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise. The incumbent must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position. Performs other duties as assigned.
