The physician will work on a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) and follow PACT principles working 8 business hours, but will not work less than 80 business hours during a two-week pay period. However, there are multiple tours available based on clinic need, including compressed tours. Additional hours will usually be needed outside of shifts to provide non face-to-face care. The physician may be on rotation to do extended hours or weekend coverage on a rotational basis if needed. This work can usually be done at the time and place of the physician's discretion. The physician's primary responsibility is to provide primary care services for a panel determined by the facility. The physician will perform physical exams, including comprehensive Women's services, according to performance measure guidelines and procedures, and dictate/type notes according to policy/procedure. The physician will report directly to the Physician Team Lead, Regional Director, and Service Line Manager. Other duties may include evaluating unscheduled patients, ordering diagnostic studies, carrying out health promotion and disease prevention activities, initiating and expediting requests for consultations and scheduling special tests and studies.
The physician will develop relationships with management, co-workers, patients, families and the general public are consistently courteous, respectful; and cooperative in nature. The physician assures the needs and rights of patients and other customers are met white also supporting the VA missions. She/he consistently communicates with Veterans, their family members, representatives, visitors, and all VA staff. The physician will communicate in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner, handles conflicts and problems with Veterans and staff constructively and appropriately. The physician will display a cooperative attitude and will effectively work together to implement the organization's mission and goals. The physician will ensure productivity is maintained at the established level for the program for which he/she is responsible.
