Serves as a national authority in the development and implementation of telehealth educational programs/projects of national scope, which are designed to meet specialized educational needs of staff engaged in Connected Care including Telehealth that deliver mission critical services to Veteran patients. Works with various professional groups involved in the delivery of health care services via Connected Care including Telehealth, Web & Mobile Solutions, My HealtheVet and Innovations. Serves in a liaison role with Employee Education System to ensure the strategic direction and operational capability of the media EES provides to support content distribution meets VHA's Telehealth needs as determined by the need to train the necessary Connected Care competent staff. Utilizes complex leadership and administrative skill sets to organize, manage, and coordinate programs related Telehealth including health care issues and activities associated with Connected Care that influence the VHA mission and health policy nationwide. Directly collaborates with Training and Quality team staff and provides support and direction to staff involved in developing and maintaining the national VHA Telehealth Web Site, SharePoint and Intranet. Provides input into the resources of the Quality and Training Teams. Responsible for ensuring that all VA policies, procedures, regulations, directives and management actions that apply to the Quality and Training Teams or the products and services utilized by the incumbent are implemented and adhered to.
Physical Requirements: The incumbent is required to meet the physical standards as outlined in VA Directive and VA Handbook 5019. This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. This position may require potentially long periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing. Transferring patients and objects may be required. The incumbent may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials and may be required lo don protective clothing in isolation situations or operative/invasive procedures. The incumbent may occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders. The incumbent must be a mature, flexible, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations, able to shift priorities based on needs. Must complete annual Employee Health requirements, such as annual TB screening or testing, as a condition of employment.
