About the Position: The purpose of the Pathways Internship Program is to provide the intern with exposure to public service, enhance educational experience, and support educational goals. The program is structured to give interns the opportunity to work in positions related to their academic/career goals. A written agreement is required between the agency and the intern. The participant completes assigned duties, tasks, and developmental activities specified in the agreement. Position(s) will be filled under the Department of the Army Pathways Intern Program. For this internship, you must be able to work, at a minimum, full-time in the summer.
NOTE: This position is not eligible for conversion to a career/career-conditional or term appointment and cannot be extended beyond the NTE date above.
Who May Apply: Students who are eligible for participation in the Department of the Army Internship Program
Positions are open to current students pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate in an accredited, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution on at least a half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled). Short-term training programs (e.g., several two-week programs completed) are not considered an academic course of study.

To qualify for a Pathways Internship as a GS-04, students must have completed two full academic years of post-high school study and meet one or more of the following.
A. My declared major field of study is in forestry or a related subject-matter field that included a total of at least 30 semester hours in any combination of biological, physical, or mathematical sciences or engineering, of which at least 24 semester hours of course work were in forestry.
OR
B. I have a combination of education and experience of courses equivalent to a major in forestry, or at least 30 semester hours in any combination of biological, physical, or mathematical sciences or engineering, of which at least 24 semester hours were in forestry. The requirements for diversification of the 24 semester hours in forestry are the same as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience.
