This position is located in Panama City, Florida at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC PCD). The mission of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division is to conduct research, development, test and evaluation, in-service support of mine warfare systems, mines, naval special warfare systems, diving and life support systems, amphibious/expeditionary maneuver warfare systems, other missions that occur primarily in coastal (littoral) regions and to execute other responsibilities as assigned by Commander, Naval Surface Warfare Center.
There are multiple positions as a General Engineer (0801), Mechanical Engineer (0830), Computer Engineer (0854), Electronics Engineer (0855), Computer Scientist (1550), Physical Scientist (1301), Physicist (1310), Operations Research Analyst (1515), and Mathematician (1520).
This announcement is being used to recruit qualified individuals, under the STRL Direct Hire Authority for NDAA FY16 section 1104, and the Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FY 2009 provides that the Secretary of Defense can designate acquisition positions as shortage positions and recruit and appoint highly qualified persons to these positions.
