The incumbent practices as an RN in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab. These labs provide cardiac procedural diagnosis and intervention for both inpatients and outpatients. The incumbent must possess knowledge and abilities to perform high quality interventional procedures in accordance with policies and procedures defining preparation of radiological equipment, physiological monitoring, defibrillator, pacemaker, and related equipment and devices used in this area. The incumbent must also have thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology with advance knowledge of cardiac hemodynamic wave forms, sterile technique, monitor and circulator roles and be able to anticipate all aspects of cardiac catheterization procedures. The Cath Lab RN assesses patient and prepares a plan of care for procedures involving sedation. Additionally the incumbent must be able to intervene in emergency situations, including activating hospital code policy and competence in monitoring patients undergoing sedation in the lab.
SHIFT: 07:30-1600 or 8:00-16:30, Monday - Friday (Call rotation includes weekends and off-tours), must be able to report within 30 minutes when on call.
