As a Information Technology Specialist (Security), you will have the following job responsibilities:
Serving as a Cybersecurity Compliance Analyst in the Office of Information Management and Technology. Providing direct support to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) on implementation and operation of the FDA Information Security Program to ensure security controls are appropriately applied to FDA systems for the protection of privacy and to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.
Assisting with system security policies and standards for Agency information systems enterprise-wide in accordance with Agency, HHS, GSA, OMB and other Federal government security requirements. Providing specific advice, recommendations, and support in the following functional area within the IT Security Program listed below.
Duties:
-Ensuring IT operational, technical and management controls are appropriately maintained to meet informational security requirements in accordance with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), NIST Special Publications, and Federal Information Processing Standards.
-Coordinating with Agency Offices and Centers in aligning IT Security requirements with the system life cycle development processes.
-Ensuring the security authorization support documentation is developed and maintained for applications and systems.
-Managing, coordinating and implementing the corrective actions for the security weaknesses found in the Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) for all information systems.
Desired skills/certifications:
-Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other related education, training, and certification.
