As an Administrative Assistant with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, you will perform a wide range of administrative and secretarial functions in order to support the operations of your office. Such duties include but are not limited to: Typing, proofreading, and editing a variety of technical, scientific, and other government documents and official correspondence in accordance with standards, guidelines, and agency procedures. Reviewing incoming correspondence, announcements, and other mail. Utilizing a variety of software programs (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.) in performing assigned work. Maintaining automated tracking or ticket systems for proper handling of controlled correspondence and action items. Answering telephone calls from a variety of customers and greeting visitors. Managing and maintaining supervisors’ calendars and scheduling meetings and events. Coordinating work assignments and office coverage with other administrative staff to ensure mission accomplishment and to support a collaborative work environment. Making travel arrangements, preparing travel authorizations and vouchers, within prescribed timeframes. Preparing electronic time and attendance records. Completing other duties as assigned.

If you have resided outside the U.S. for an extended period of time, the agency may not be able to (1) grant the 145(b) waiver where the required investigation cannot be completed in a timely manner, or (2) achieve timely completion of the background investigation required for a security clearance.
