Works under the supervision of the Beverage Manager who issues instructions on procedures, methods and deadlines, relies on incumbent to assure work assignments are carried out by other members of the bartending crew. Supervisor assigns work schedules and provides job standards, performance appraisals and leave approval.
Serves as a working leader of three or more employees in accomplishing bartender work. The highest level of non-supervisory work led is Bartender NA-7405-05.
Follows established procedures in operating a full service bar, mixing and serving the full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Ensures there is enough work to keep everyone in the work crew busy. Works with other bartenders, setting the pace. Assist customers by discussing beverages available, their content and mixing special drinks according to customer direction. Records sales, makes change or prepares charge slips in accordance with operating procedures. Keeps records of quantities of beverages dispensed and submits requirement for re-stocking to supervisor. Uses tack and courtesy to deny further sales to persons whose conduct has become unruly or who appear to be intoxicated.

2. Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
3. Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-15j(1) to include a medical examination. Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
