You will serve as a Medical Technician in a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), with the Salt Lake City MEPS, the duty location of this position is in Las Vegas, Nevada.

· Maintains applicant's medical record during the examination process.
· Assist applicants in the completion of various forms required for the physical examination process.
· Inputs and updates applicant data from medical records into computer databases.
· Performs customer service duties and administrative office duties such as filing of paperwork and annotating logs.
· Manages medical consultations to include verifying doctor's orders or requests from the Service liaisons.
· Screens medical records from various health care providers concerning current or past medical conditions, determines applicability of the
information for conditions that could be disqualifying for entrance or retention in the military, and then refers those records to the CMO.
· Takes and records blood pressure and pulse rate.
· Performs phlebotomy procedures to obtain blood samples for HIV and other laboratory tests, using USMEPCOM-standard safety precautions.
· Determines how specimens must be processed, completes required forms, operates centrifuge to separate specimens, processes packages, and
ships all specimens.
· Ensures OSHA requirements for the proper use, storage, and disposal of needles are met.
· Ensures the proper disposal of biomedical hazardous waste.
· Removes cerumen (earwax) using specialized equipment.
· Administers audiometric (hearing) tests.
· Operates the audiometric equipment to determine the applicant's hearing acuity.
· Conducts near/far visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception optical (vision) tests.
· Interprets and evaluates EKG results based on previous experience and observations to ensure a valid tracing.
· Measures and records height and weight.
· Sets up and performs operator-level maintenance (including daily preventative maintenance and services) on testing equipment.
· Monitors and maintains stock level of medical supplies used for applicant medical processing and restocks as necessary.
