In addition to our main facility in Tomah, we offer services in four community-based outpatient clinics. These clinics are located in La Crosse, Clark County, Wausau, and Wisconsin Rapids. VAMC Tomah is one of eight facilities that comprise Veterans Integrated Services Network 12 (VISN12) which is administratively headquartered at Westchester, IL, and includes facilities in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
The Staff Psychologist performs special proficiency in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to four specialized tracks within the RRTP: Non-combat PTSD, Military Sexual Trauma (MST), General Psychosocial disorders (anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, etc), and Homelessness. Qualify for medical staff membership and adhere to all quality management guidelines.

-Conduct interviews, uses rating scales, questionnaires or other measurement devices, or observes the patient to assess emotional, functional or psychological condition.
-Consult with a senior psychologist and medical staff to determine a psychological diagnosis.
-Conduct comprehensive assessments: interviews, observations, personal histories, or uses other assessment measurement devices to gather information that portrays the client's mental health.
-Screen, assess, diagnosis, and treat depressive disorders, anxiety-related disorders, and serious mental illness, as well as other Axis I conditions, with an emphasis on the application of evidence-based.
-Provide psychological prevention services to residents at significant risk for psychological problems.
-Conduct psychological testing and interpretation for compensation and pension evaluation.
-Provide individual and group psychoeducational interventions to support residents that are coping, with feelings of grief and loss associated with disability and other life transitions.
-Promote communication and interactions between medical team members, interns, resident to facilitate the media treatment process.
-Evaluate the results and provides sound diagnostic conclusions.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, may need to work occasional nights and weekends

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary and is usually accomplished while the employee is comfortably seated at a desk or table. Some walking and standing may occur in the course of a normal workday in connection with attendance of meetings and conferences, or while researching files.
