Performs varied operational programs, manual reports functions and operates computerized cash register. Complies with internal control directives, appropriately registers guests and computes guests check out charges in compliance with required forms and statements, verifies financial transactions, and complies with shift work requirements. Verifies financial transactions at end of shift with attached calculator tape, totals verifying folio, and cash receipts to complete the required Daily Activity Report (DAR). May be responsible for a change fund (cash register).
Performs work in the Property Management System (PMS) ATLAS to register guests and make appropriate room keys.
Responsible for transient lodging, and maintenance of varied reports, log books and files. Determines room assignments, confirms payment procedures and coordinates space capabilities and dates with individuals, units, and Station Fleet Liaison personnel. Works to provide an efficient quality hotel registration. Answer phones at the front desk to respond to current and prospective guests needs. Check out service involving expertise with technical systems, programs such as Microsoft office, reports and safeguarding government funds. May assist in administrative and clerical duties concerning the Billeting Fund. Assist in the development of filing systems to maintain military personnel, Station Orders and Billeting Fund SOP’s. Must maintain confidentiality.
May assist in set-up and break-down of the Continental style breakfast during any high guest occupancy times. Maintain office cleanliness and overall appearance of office spaces at all times.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Checks for satisfaction of quality of goods and services. Communicate guest requests and complaints to the appropriate department. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate - supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program
And prevention of sexual harassment.
EVALUATIONS:
Knowledge of varied hotel policies, procedures, reports, programs and operations requiring considerable training.
Must be able to sue a calculator to compute financial transactions and complete Daily Activity Report (DAR).
Must be able to use a computerized cash register to check out guests. Cash handling experience, to include credit/debit card, preferred.
Knowledge of military ranks, protocol, orders terminology, applicable government directives, unit deployment procedures preferred. Knowledge of basic hotel/motel procedures coupled with communication skills to affect appropriate interaction with military and authorized civilian guests presenting various requests and requirements. Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
Ability to complete assignments involving several tasks or processes which require remembering directions, sequences, etc.
Work involves some standing, though not usually prolonged. Also, some bending, stooping, and lifting of moderately heavy supplies and files. Most of the work is performed in an adequately lights, heated, and ventilated office setting. This is white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. may be required.
Will hold in possession a valid Food Handling Card.
