The Decision Review Officer (DRO), reviews facts and evidence regarding decisions made by Veterans Service Representatives (VSR's) and Rating Veterans Service Representatives (RVSR's) for which appeal periods have not yet expired. The DRO may uphold existing decisions or overturn them based on the same evidence considered by the previous decision-makers; the DRO may also accept and review new evidence prior to rendering decisions and, when appropriate, pursue additional evidentiary development.
Physical Requirements: This position is primarily sedentary with some walking, standing, bending, and/or carrying lightweight items.
There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies.
