Assist the Manager in the supervision, management, and administration of the marina. Plans and implements the various phases and projects of the program and handles problems and deviations in accordance with standing instructions, and established procedures. Assists in carrying out program projects, primarily in program planning, staff training, and administrative duties and annual budget. Provides sailing instructions. Assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of recreation aids. Ensures the work is completed in compliance with established procedures and instructions. Trains new employees, instructs proper procedures and solves problems related to work.
Performs maintenance on boats to include sail repair, sail maintenance, rigging hardware maintenance and replacement, and outboard engine repair.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EVALUATIONS:
At least three years’ experience in the operation of a sailing craft and power craft. Knowledge of repair and maintenance work associated with boat engines, sails, rigging, and hardware for mooring and related equipment. Must possess in-depth knowledge of water safety rules and regulations. Must have knowledge of equipment, supplies and procedures in order to maintain efficient functioning of the operation. Must have the ability to work independently. Must be able to work irregular hours. Must possess current CPR certification and First Aid certifications or able to attain these certificates immediately upon employment. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
