The Cheyenne VA Medical Center is a Level 3 facility, providing care with 22 authorized inpatient beds, 6 ICU beds and a 50 bed Community Living Center that incorporates Short-Term Rehabilitation and Hospice Care. The Cheyenne VA Medical Center has Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Greeley, Colorado, Fort Collins, Colorado and Sidney, Nebraska. The Community Based Outpatient Clinics provide outpatient primary care, behavioral health as well as specialty clinic services. Telehealth care is provided in Rawlins, Wyoming and at several mobile sites. Our patient population is over 24,000 patients from three states and 19 Counties in Wyoming, Colorado, and Nebraska.

This position is located at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Incumbent serves as a Compensation and Pension (C&P) Mental Health Examiner, performing initial and follow-up disability exams for a variety of mental health condition claims as requested by Veteran's Benefits Administration (VBA). Duties may include, but are not limited to:
-Exam types include but are not limited to initial and review exams for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injuries, and other mental health conditions as requested by VBA.
-Orders further diagnostic testing/evaluation as indicated by findings and notifies veteran of any abnormal findings in a timely manner.
-Documents assessments and findings using appropriate forms in the CAPRI system in a timely manner.
-Works as a collaborative member of the C&P interdisciplinary team including Medical and other Mental Health examiners.
-Participates in process and quality improvement activities as requested. Actively participates in service and hospital committees and/or task forces as needed.
-Complies with all C&P education and training requirements, maintaining appropriate certifications for performing C&P exams.
Work Schedule: Four (4) ten hour shifts: 7am - 5:30pm (days negotiable)
