Provides employees, their family members, and authorized retired members confidential short-term counseling, referral requiring specialized attention, and information on the various types of services available in the local area by military or civilian agencies. The information provided and services rendered are for the purpose of improving performance, increasing job satisfaction, reducing stress and strengthening families. Examples are educational, financial and legal aid resources; techniques to strengthen the marriage and family; prevention and education on the dangers of domestic abuse, alcohol and drug use, workplace violence; cultural awareness, immigration and naturalization services, etc. Receives clients by appointment, referral or voluntary walk-in; and conducts screening and assessments based on needs in order to provide proper services. Identifies risks and recommends plans to combat environmental or work related environmental factors that have the potential to adversely affect employees. Counsels and works closely with local employee and family program coordinators for cases requiring specialized counseling, rehabilitation and treatment. Works closely with management and union officials, civilian and military law enforcement agencies, court officials, and other financial, prevention, education and family assistance programs. Supervisory services of consultation and mediation are provided to guide employees and managers in resolving issues that may impact on the productivity of the workforce. Publicizes and markets the program's services and ensures employees and supervisors receive training on how to access, gain knowledge, and use services.
Coordinates the hotel requirements for annual training of staff. Participates in new employee orientation and conducts team building exercises and Operations Excellence for Customer Service. Arranges for specialized training in Sexual Harassment Assault Response and Prevention and Suicide Prevention, Drug and Alcohol training.
Serves on the Staff Wellness team, developing and promulgating options for staff that promote well-being and healthier lifestyles. Monitors results and reports on progress. Coordinates efforts with other officials internal and external to the hotel to deliver services, such as workshops that educate on healthier lifestyles. Coordinates the actions required for the annual wellness fair with vendors and staff. Coordinates the Combined Federal Campaign for the hotel. Provides weekly articles for the newsletter.
Conditions of Employment

A baccalaureate degree in social work, counseling education, psychology or related behavioral science is required.
