This position is located at the Voice of America's, (VOA) South and Central Asia Division in Washington, DC. The incumbent serves as an International Broadcaster with responsibility for hosting, writing, editing and producing complex broadcast products on politics, economy and society. Incumbent will be adapting content for the Service's digital platforms, web and mobile phone-based news and information outlets.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
~Selects, reviews, obtains, translates, interviews and edits media products for VOA Afghan broadcast platforms.
~Researches, selects and prepares original material to provide additional background and highlight key elements of news reports.
~Adopts and coordinates the presentation of the news on available broadcast platforms.
~Prepares multimedia news products.
~Assures editorial balance and quality in all broadcast material.
~Reports on special events in Washington and travels as needed to cover key events.
Suitability Determination: If selected, you will be subject to a security investigation to establish your suitability for federal employment. The security investigation will include, among other aspects, a review of your credit and legal history.
This position may require working nights, weekends, and holidays.
