This is the Advanced level of the position. The incumbent will perform the duties of an Advanced Medical Support Assistant (MSA) in the Patient Care Support Office, Medical Administration Service (MAS) and is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to the professional staff in health care delivery in a diversified ambulatory care setting, utilizing working knowledge of all medical center programs and services. Incumbent provides orientation to the professional staff on administrative procedures and logistical factors associated with health care delivery. Incumbent works collaboratively giving advisory and technical assistance to all applicable MSA staff, veterans and their family members, beneficiaries, and other administrative and professional staff throughout the facility pertaining to MSA activities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must undergo a physical health exam.
Time-in-grade: Applicants who are
current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past
52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. For a GS-06
position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05 level.
