This position is being filled under the Acquisition Expedited Hiring Authority (EHA) using OPM's Direct Hire Authority.
This position is part of the Department of Defense, Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for program configuration documentation/data management to include product configuration identification documentation, configuration status accounting, standardization, serialization, nomenclature, engineering release, implementation of change control procedures, and establishment of technical data management programs throughout MDA systems and subsystems cycles. Assigned areas may include multiple system applications requiring parallel concern for systems applications in operation and production as well as major product improvement programs. This position also includes the management and oversight of configuration management programs for prime contractors, second source and breakout procurements as well as components of the armed services, foreign military sales, participating interface organizations, contractors, and subcontractors. Also includes the coordination and review of Specification Change Notices (SCNs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Requests for Variances (Deviations/Waivers), Technical Notices (TNs), and Value Engineering Change Proposals (VECPs) for adequacy of detail and completeness.

This position requires Acquisition Workforce Level II certification in Production Quality and Manufacturing category. Certification prior to hiring is not essential but must be accomplished within 24 months after entry into this position.
Selectee or incumbent must be able to obtain the appropriate certification level for their position.
Employee is required to accumulate 80 continuous learning points (CLP's) in a 2 year period.
