About the Position:
This position is located in the Engineering Division office, Omaha District, US Army Corps of Engineers. The office is located in downtown Omaha, Nebraska, near the Missouri River and the city's wide array of parks, museums, historic sites, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

Serve as water quality expert and technical specialist for water quality monitoring. Provide comprehensive understanding of interactions, uses, and users of the aquatic environment and the impact of Corps structures and their operation on the aquatic environment. As water quality expert, advise on water quality investigation, study, design and construction projects of the district. Provide authoritative approvals for water quality features of projects that ensures compliance with criteria, scientific principles, and that funding is appropriate. Evaluate and resolve water quality problems through discussion and collaboration with agencies and district staff. Conduct research and study to incorporate the best solutions and apply the best science for projects. Act to provide vital representation, participation and involvement with local, regional, and national organizations to offer pertinent guidance and maintain regional focus.
Other Requirements:
Additionally, applicants must meet the basic educational requirements for the Limnologist occupation. (Transcripts are required at time of application).
(A) Bachelor's Degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position; OR
(B) Combination of Education and Experience -- Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
