Temporary 1039 Appointment: These positions are Full-Time temporary positions not-to-exceed 1039 regular hours (about 6 months) in a service year. Positions may be terminated sooner or extended depending on management needs. Topics of interpretation focus primarily on geology and paleontology resources. The park is located 12 miles west of Kemmerer, WY population 3,000. Doctors, dentists, shopping, churches, and schools (K-12) are available in Kemmerer. Elevation is 7,000 feet. Climate is high-cold desert- type with strong winds. Temperatures range from -30 in winter to low 90s in summer. Government housing may be available.

The incumbent staffs the information counter at the visitor center serving as initial contact to greet and answer questions for all visitors entering the building. Provides information on a variety of subjects and interprets park values for visitors with varying interest and backgrounds. Orients hikers to the site and provides information on conditions and equipment needs. The incumbent will also operate a cash register and credit card machine for cooperating association sales.
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
