This position is located at the Voice of America's, (VOA) Broadcast Operations Division. Incumbent provides administrative, managerial and policy oversight of the day-to-day operations of VOA's Studios/Master Control and Production Services Division. The Director is responsible for the 24/7 audio/video production and operational aspects of VOA's digital transformation. Incumbent is responsible for operational projects affecting VOA programming and VOA Digital Operations, including budget formulation, project planning, monitoring progress and successful completion and implementation.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
~ Directs VOA's studio, master control, traffic, central editing and field production for a 24/7 operations, managing a large workforce of employees and contractors.
~Creates and implements standards for production and operational workflows designed to use digital and broadcast technologies for maximum efficiency, effectiveness and ease of operation.
~Trains production, journalistic and operational staffs in new and existing workflows created in support of production initiatives, broadcast production automation and other new technologies VOA may acquire.
~Creates and implements high standards for studio workflows and the use of operating equipment in studios, remote centers and on location.
~Manages and tracks the use of all production assets, including studio and personnel, synchronizing daily production schedules and studio staff schedules.
~Takes a leadership role in ensuring that production and operational staffing, workflows and capabilities meet the needs of VOA.

This position has been designated supervisory requiring that the selectee on an initial appointment as a supervisor or manager serve a one-year probationary period.
