Physical Demands: Work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required. The individual works primarily in an office setting with normal indoor heating, cooling, and lighting. The individual may be required to lift file boxes and books. Some occasional field work may involve somewhat strenuous hiking over varied terrain, but most work is sedentary.
Work Environment: Performed in an adequately lighted and climate controlled office. The individual may be required occasionally to travel. Incumbent works in an office setting, however, some field work may be required to complete some projects. The employee may be exposed to discomfort from harsh weather outside of the indoor office setting.

The Planning and Environmental Specialist is responsible for formatting, guidelines and procedures are used in the preparation of all land use planning and NEPA documents. Works with the District/Field Office Public Information Officer and the project lead and managers to ensure adequate public participation in the planning process. Reads and reviews NEPA and environmental assessments to ensure compliance with laws and regulations and coordinates with interdisciplinary team. Serves as procedure and policy coordinator on all NEPA and planning documentation matters. Responsible for preparation and monitoring of land use planning annual work plan. May serve as Contracting Officer's Representative. The specialist assesses requirements for staff training and provides training for project leads in the documentation procedures for analysis of effects of resource management action proposals and alternatives, land use allocations, and the monitoring and implementation of NEPA and planning decisions.
You will need to clearly state your undergraduate/graduate degree(s) and submit your college transcripts or a listing of your college courses that includes hours and grades.
