Chalmers P. Wylie VA ACC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for the Specialty Clinics. Duty location is the Columbus Ambulatory Care Center. This RN's role is to provide safe, prompt, and skillful nursing care for patients with health complaints and diseases related. The ANM must possess the skills needed to effectively work with others to communicate directions and offer assistance. In addition, s/he must demonstrate well-developed organizational and leadership skills and require minimal direct supervision.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certifications are required
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 - 3:30

Physical Requirements: The Nurse may need to perform moderate lifting, 15-44 pounds, tasks that require the ability to reach. above the shoulder and use of fingers, both hands required. Candidate needs to be able to determine depth perception and have the ability to determine basic colors. Near vision needs to be correctable at 13" to 16" to Jaeger 1 to 4. A hearing aide is permitted. Occasional bending, kneeling and walking 0.25 to 0.5 hours during rounding that may include uneven or slippery walking surfaces. The Nurse must possess hand dexterity necessary for nursing skills and typing, and ability to perform CPR. There may be occasional standing for protracted periods.
Candidate may be exposed to dust and needs ability to work with others in shared office space. Transferring patients and objects may be required. The candidate may work alone at times. The candidate will be working around electrical energy. This individual may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials and may be required to don protective clothing in isolation situations or operative/invasive procedures. The incumbent may occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders. The Nurse must be flexible, he/she must have excellent critical thinking skills and be capable of working effectively in stressful situations; Being able to shift priorities based on staffing or patient needs is required.
