As a TRAINING TECHNICIAN, GS-1702-7, you will manage the unit training program by serving as Unit Education and Training Manager and primary point of contact for Enlisted Specialty Training (EST) with unit work centers, Commander, Base Training Manager, and ANG Career Field Managers. Develop, manage, control, and evaluate technical training, career development, Professional Military Education, cross-utilization training, retraining, formal technical training, Instructional Systems Development and various multi-media training programs, such as Distance Learning. Advise the Commander on all matters pertaining to the unit's training programs. Manage the formal schools training programs. Manage the squadron EST programs. Coordinate policies and procedures to provide an efficient and effective EST program. Conduct work center staff assistance visits in accordance with current directives to evaluate the administration, operation and effectiveness of the overall training program and prepares a written report. Manage and teach unit instructional development program. Manage automated training systems products Core Automated Maintenance System (CAMS), Personnel Concept III (PCIII), Technical Maintenance Standard (TMS), etc) and the multi-media library. Maintain Current Career Field Education (CFETP) and Training Plans for each Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) authorized on the Unit Manning Document and provides supervisors with applicable changes. Identify and resolve training deficiencies from document research, subject matter experts, interviews and work observations. Manage curriculum development functions. Research available resources to ensure cost effective quality training. Maintain liaison with activities that conduct, schedule, or support training requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
