About the Position:
You will serve as a chemist assigned to the Trace Evidence Division of the United States Army Criminal Investigation Laboratory (USACIL) at the Defense Forensic Science Center (DFSC). The USACIL provides evidence examination, expert court testimony, consultation, crime scene support, forensic training, and research and development in support of the criminal investigation and legal agencies of the U.S. Department of Defense and other federal and non-federal agencies worldwide.
This is a developmental position. Selections may be made at any grade and promotions may be made to the full performance (GS-13) without further competition upon meeting training and time-in-grade requirements.

GS-11: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, if related to the duties of the position and from an accredited college or university.
Specialized experience as described above, but less than one year; and at least two years of graduation described above, but less than the required three years (Ph.D.) The percentage of the requirements met equals at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.
GS-12: No Education Substitution.
GS-13: No Education Substitution.
