The following are the duties of a Pathways Student Tainee (Special Agent) (Pathways Intern) at the GS-7/9/11. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position:
Prior to conversion to a Criminal Investigator Special Agent, GS-1811, 5/7/9/11/12/13 position, applicants must meet all GS-1811 Criminal Investigator (Special Agent) Qualification Standards, including Medical and Age Requirements. Participants failing to meet the medical requirements at the time of their initial medical examination and drug test will be considered ineligible for the Special Agent position.

The date immediately preceding an individual's 37th birthday is the maximum entry age for a career conditional appointment to a position within the Department of Treasury as a law enforcement officer as defined in title 5 U.S.C. 8331(20) or in 5 U.S.C. 8401(17). Consideration will be restricted to participants who have not yet reached age 37 at the time of conversion to a Special Agent position.
