This position is located in the East Asia and Pacific Division, Korean Service with the Voice of America in Washington, DC. The incumbent serves as an International Broadcaster with the responsibilities of conceiving, planning, researching, writing, editing and broadcasting original text/audio/video scripts in a multimedia broadcast environment.

INTRODUCTION TO AGENCY: The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), an independent federal agency, is an exciting, multi-cultural organization that encompasses all United States civilian international broadcasting. The BBG is comprise of five networks broadcasting in 61 languages that include the Voice of America, the Office of Cuba Broadcasting (Radio and TV Marti), and three grantee organizations - Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty; the Middle East Broadcasting Networks (Alhurra TV and Radio Sawa), and Radio Free Asia. The International Broadcasting Bureau provides transmission, administrative, and other support services; and three grantee organizations. Our staff of dedicated professionals serve as an example of a free and independent media, reaching a worldwide audience of 215 million people with news, information, and relevant discussions.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Writes and edits news related stories for use in radio, television or Internet posting.
Prepares integrated, highly-targeted, well-balanced scripts, radio, or television program or program segments, or Internet web presentation that captures the attention of the audience.
Serves as a solo reporter, writer and voice for television news and feature stories.
Prepares and/or presents news and feature materials in a studio or on location for radio/television simulcast.
Provides video editor with a script timed to video shots, natural sound emerges and actualities, and complete with suggested visual, audio and graphic effects and/or performs desktop video editing.
Suitability Determination: If selected, you will be subject to a security investigation to establish your suitability for federal employment. The security investigation will include, among other aspects, a review of your credit and legal history.
Working nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
