This is a moderate risk public trust position. The selected employee will be required to complete a Standard Form 85p, Questionnaire for Public Trust Positions, in order to have the appropriate investigation conducted, unless the employee has been previously certified eligible to occupy a position at this level
Official Personnel Folders will not be reviewed for purposes of acquiring missing or incomplete information. Your SSA-45 must include all information needed to evaluate your eligibility and qualifications for this position.
Your SSA-45 must describe, in your own words, your experience related to the qualifications (e.g., specialized experience). Information that is copied or restated language from the vacancy announcement, rating criteria, KSAs and/or position description will not be considered. If this occurs, you may be found ineligible.
Follow all instructions carefully. When answering the questionnaire, remember that your experience is subject to verification by the selecting official. You may be asked to provide specific examples or documentation of experience to support your answers or you may be required to verify a response by a practical demonstration of your claimed ability to perform a task.
You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
Your preliminary rating will consist of the following: first, your eligibility for this vacancy will be determined based on your verified responses to questions 1-5. If you provide a response to the online questionnaire that indicates you are not eligible, or you are otherwise found ineligible during this part of the review, you will not receive further consideration.
If you are found to be "eligible" you will receive a score based on your responses to the rating criteria listed here: https://apply.usastaffing.gov/ViewQuestionnaire/10078108
If you are among the highest-ranked applicants based on that score, your qualifications will be determined as follows: your SSA-45 will be reviewed to assess specialized experience as stated above (e.g., have you described duties you perform that pertain to the specific requirements for this position?) and your transcript will be reviewed to determine if you demonstrate your claimed education.
Please review the QUALIFICATIONS section very carefully. Your SSA-45 must clearly demonstrate that you have the required experience at the indicated grade level in order to qualify for this position. It is recommended that you separate your qualifying grade-level experience from all other experience (e.g., if you are or were in a career-ladder or held an outside (non-federal) position for which some of your experience is potentially qualifying, separate that experience from all other experience to clearly establish that the duties you describe are [or were] at the required grade level for at least 52 weeks).
Your SSA-45 must also support your answers to the questionnaire. It is not necessary to address each question individually, but you should provide a clear description of the duties you perform that pertain to the experience needed for this position. If you choose to provide descriptive responses to each of the experience questions, it is suggested that you first complete your SSA-45 (which demonstrates that you meet the requirements stated in the QUALIFICATIONS section) and then provide individual responses in a separate word-document. Optional descriptive responses should be uploaded under the 'resume' document type.
You cannot be credited for federal experience unless your SSA-45 clearly shows your grade level at the time the experience was gained, as well as the dates you were at each grade level. If you combine career-ladder experience into a single description of duties, you may be eliminated from consideration based on failure to clearly document the required experience at the required grade level for the required period of time.
If you remain among the highest-ranked eligible applicants, your name will be referred to the selecting official and your applicable documents will be forwarded for further review.
You must submit:
SSA-45 - *See additional information below pertaining to your SSA-45
SF-50 -- ONLY IF your eligibility is based on excepted service status - submit the SF-50 you received when you were hired -- access a copy in eOPF
*Your SSA-45 must provide all information necessary to establish eligibility and qualifications (e.g., describe your specialized experience and relevant education and indicate the grade level and dates of all positions you've held, as well as the grades/dates of each level of any career-ladder positions). You must describe, in your own words, the duties you perform. Information that is copied or restated language from the vacancy announcement, rating criteria, KSAs and/or position description will not be considered. If this occurs, you may be found ineligible.
It is suggested that you separate all experience gained at GS-12 and above from all other grade-level experience (even if that experience was part of a career-ladder). Your SSA-45 will be provided to the selecting official if you are eligible for the best qualified list.
Employees' Official Personnel Folders will not be reviewed for purposes of acquiring missing or incomplete information.
Unless required above, you do not need to submit veterans documents, SF-50s, transcripts, training certificates or performance appraisals, however, you must meet area of consideration and time-in-grade requirements and your most recent performance appraisal must be at least satisfactory. Pertinent information relating to your experience and/or education should be included as part of your SSA-45.
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications. Therefore, provide only the attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Failure to provide all of the required information as stated in this vacancy announcement may result in an ineligible rating or may affect the overall rating.
