This is a developmental position to the intermediate target position of Safety Technician, GS-0019-07, with a final target of Safety Technician, GS-0019-09. The incumbent will perform the duties shown below in a developmental capacity. The incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the GS-09 position upon demonstrating capacity to perform at that level, meeting all legal and regulatory requirements, and receiving the supervisor's recommendation.
In this position, the incumbent serves as a Safety Technician duties in support of the USACE Portland Safety Office mission. The Safety Office provides guidance to the US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District. Incumbent performs daily routine inspections of facilities, industrial operations, issued personal protective equipment (PPE), and a variety of workplaces, tools, machinery, and equipment at the Portland District and at all workplaces located at other federal, state, and county property.
