The Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Health Care System is seeking full time staff Psychiatrist for Psychiatry service, which is affiliated with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
This position has clinical responsibilities for outpatient management and works with a multidisciplinary team consisting of other psychiatrists, psychologists and psychiatric social workers. The incumbent will provide consultations and direct care for outpatients manifesting a wide variety of psychiatric and psychosocial problems, as well as respond to emergency consultation requests from the admission area and from other clinics in the medical center.
The incumbent will rotate with other physicians on a monthly roster for weekend/holiday coverage, and week night backup for residents; and through affiliated institutions, may participate in education and training of psychiatry residents, medical students, psychology interns, and allied health trainees. As time permits, may participate in research projects. May be assigned to various programs within Mental Health Service depending on fluctuating staffing patterns and workloads.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm with rotating weekends and holidays
