Serves as a benefits specialist for the DoD Health Benefit Plan and Health Maintenance Organization Plans. Responsible for enrollment and termination of participants, and reconciliation of eligibility data. Applies regulatory, statutory and plan provisions to determine eligibility for enrollment. Acts as liaison between participants and carriers to resolve enrollment and claim processing discrepancies. Reconciles HMO participant data, and generates self-invoices for monthly payment of HMOs in cooperation with the accountant and systems administrator. Coordinates with other Army and Department of Defense agencies as required to ensure continuity of Benefit Plan participation for active and retiring NAF employees under the Portability of Benefits statutes.
