The incumbent serves as a Student Trainee Data Analyst in the Office of Data Integration and Food Protection (ODIFP) and will perform a variety of scientific and technical data analysis activities. The incumbent will conduct day-to-day project activities including summarizing data, coordinating work group meetings, visualizing data, and developing reports.
The incumbent will also assess the outputs of various analytics work to identify early trends and anomalies and derive actionable conclusions. In a student trainee capacity, the incumbent will work directly with the supervisor and higher-graded employees and perform a variety of duties and responsibilities, including the following:
Current USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) Pathways Interns in the local commuting area only.
To qualify for the USDA Pathways Internship Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
***Outstanding academic achievement must be demonstrated by an overall grade point average of 3.5 or better, on a 4.0 scale; standing in the top 10 percent of the student’s graduating class; and/or induction into a nationally-recognized scholastic honor society.
To qualify for the GS-09 level- Completion of 2 academic years of graduate level education, or a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
