About the Position:
The U.S. Army Medical Materiel Agency (USAMMA) is a unique and multifaceted organization that acts as the Army Surgeon General's central focal point and Executive Agent for strategic medical logistics programs and initiatives. The Agency's mission is to develop, tailor, deliver, and sustain medical materiel capabilities and data in order to build and enable health readiness.
USAMMA is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Personnel Demonstration Project (PDP). The DJ-04 payband is equivalent to the GS-13 step 1 to GS-14 step 10 level. In keeping with the Demonstration pay fixing policies, employees earning a salary that falls within this payband equivalent will not receive an immediate pay increase (promotion) if appointed to this position. Future pay increases within the payband will be accomplished through the pay for performance management system.
The installation is located within the boundaries of the city of Frederick which offers modern housing, schools, recreation areas, excellent utilities, and access to major metropolitan areas. Frederick is the second largest city in Maryland and is located approximately 45 miles west of both Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC in Frederick County, MD. This county adjoins Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Exercises discretionary oversight of distribution of funds in the program's budget. Directly manages integration of funding, project development, testing and contract management of assigned medical devices and equipment. Oversees development and implementation of program fiscal plans, test plans, communicates goals, policies and priorities to staff. Devises and develops detailed plans, goals, and objectives for the long-range sustainment of medical devices. Ensures that integration and sustainment of medical device development and modernization initiatives are in compliance with, FDA, MEDCOM and DHA guidelines. Reviews and interprets new and established directives, instructions, and technical guidance to determine their impact on the organization and its programs. Assures that program goals, objectives, and operations are realistic and in line with mandated and organizational goals and objectives.
