The Gulf Coast VA is seeking Board Eligible or Board Certified Internal and Family Medicine physicians in our Primary Care outpatient clinics to provide comprehensive care to our patients, including basic women's health services, for a panel of adult patients.
The incumbent serves as a provider who is highly skilled in the management of a patient's primary care needs or subspecialty evaluation and treatment, and referral. The incumbent is responsible for contributing to the achievements of quality care standards, efficiency, process improvement, and patient satisfaction. The incumbent prescribes medications, writes orders for diagnostic testing, and orders consultations to specialty services utilizing computer-keyboarding techniques. Cross coverage and extended hours might be required at infrequent intervals.
The Physicians will provide Tele-Primary Care virtually from their assigned duty station to patients throughout the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System, as patient care needs dictate.
The Physician functions interdependently with other providers and is responsible for providing quality care, consultation, education, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals. The incumbent is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values and with a commitment to service excellence.
NOTE: Applicant's education and length of practice (experience) will be considered by a Professional Standards Board and Compensation Panel in determining the salary of the applicant selected. Telework is not authorized for this position. The positions' initial duty stations are as listed below; however the duty station, based upon the needs of the health care system, may require the individual to work from other facilities (e.g., Biloxi, MS; Pensacola Outpatient Clinic, Florida; Mobile Outpatient Clinic, Alabama; Eglin Outpatient clinic, Florida; and Panama City Outpatient Clinics, Florida).

Biloxi: Monday-Friday, 0800-1630; Monday-Thursday, 0800-1800; Saturday, 0800-1200 (rotation);
Mobile: Monday-Friday, 0800-1630;
Pensacola: Monday-Friday, 0700-1530; Monday-Friday, 0900-1730; Tuesday-Friday, 0700-1630 and Saturday, 0800-1200;
Eglin A.F.B: Monday-Friday, 0800-1630;
Panama City: Monday-Friday, 0800-1630
Physical Requirements:
Moderate lifting (15-44 pounds), moderate carrying (15-44 pounds), reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, both hands required, walking (1 hour), standing (1 hour), near vision correctable to 13" to 16" to Jaeger 1 to 4, far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20, hearing (aid permitted), emotional/mental stability, working inside and outside, working closely with others, working alone, working with hands in water, protracted or irregular hours of work, slippery or uneven walking surfaces.
