As an IT Specialist you will provide advice in the IT area to clients in two or more of the following IT specialties: information technology infrastructure services, network services, systems analysis, systems integration, systems administration, applications software/hardware, customer support and/or security.

GSA's Office of Information Technology Category (ITC) provides access to private sector IT & telecommunications solutions for federal, state & local government agencies. ITC works with federal agencies, OMB, & industry to create common solutions for IT services, hardware, software, telecommunications, cyber security, & identity management. 98% of federal agencies use ITC solutions. ITC works with the Office of Federal Procurement Policy & the Office of the Federal Chief Information Office to develop & implement acquisition and technology initiatives such as strategic sourcing, category management, cloud, cyber, enterprise licensing agreements for software, desktop configurations & data center optimization. Major duties:
As an advisor in the information technology (IT) field, incumbent plays a role in projects affecting broad areas of future operations, working closely with technical client contacts, and contractor contacts.
Incumbent provides IT technical solutions, advice, guidance and recommendations to management officials and other technical specialists on a wide range of IT issues, some of which are critical in nature and essential to the accomplishment of the client agency’s mission.
Participates as an IT advisor on FAS teams studying a diverse range of state-of-the-art IT developments, issues and policies.
The incumbent provides technical support and assistance to other personnel throughout the Federal Acquisition Service, including IT Specialists,, team leaders and supervisors.
Provides support and technical information in terms of assigned technology projects or state-of-the-art product direction to IT Specialists who are involved in customers’ requirements analysis and service delivery Assists with troubleshooting and resolving IT problems.

3. Knowledge of systems engineering concepts, and methods, including understanding of interrelationships of multiple IT specialties and Project Management;
4. Knowledge of IT systems and software;
5. Ability to be able to communicate effectively.
Your answers to the questions will be used to place you in one of three categories: Best Qualified, Well Qualified, or Qualified [If the use of 4 categories is justified, adjust verbiage].

Within each category, veterans will receive selection priority over non-veterans.
