As an Operations Assistant, serve as the lead point of contact for the day-to-day front office operations of a veterinary clinic.
Performs a variety of general administrative and clerical functions including, but not limited to, typing and office automation, telephone calls, and file management. Coordinates with clinic management to establish clinic schedule and appointment availability. Loads schedules into the Remote Online Veterinary Record (ROVR). Serves as clinic ordering official and Government Purchase Cardholder. Processes purchasing documents. Assists with preparation of the yearly clinical budget. Initiates personnel actions at the direction of management.

Provides direction and oversight to lower level clerks. Distributes and balances workload among lower level clerks in accordance with established workflow. Monitors the status and progress of work, and make day- to- day adjustments in accordance with established priorities, obtaining assistance from the supervisor on problems that may arise. Instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques and make available written instructions, reference materials and supplies. Conduct on the job training to lower level clerks and new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices. Maintain an extensive knowledge of operations, procedures, policies, and judgment in seeking guidance and direction from immediate supervisor. Escalate complex issues to immediate supervisor.
