The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final (e.g., confidential/secret/top secret, etc.) security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the applicant fails to report to the scheduled drug test appointment. Incumbents of drug testing designated positions will be subject to random testing. Drug test results will be provided to the employing activity/command.
Selectee will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Required to wear a uniform and maintain appearance and grooming standards per Marine Corps Orders/policies.
This is an mission essential position. As first responders to chemical/biological attacks, must be able to train and wear personal protective equipment to include mask, suit, boots, and gloves.
Must successfully pass a sanctioned job compatibility/psychological examination.
Must successfully pass a sanctioned physical agility test and medical evaluation and pass periodic re-tests as required.
This position is subject to shift work. Incumbent is subject to 24-hour recall and will maintain a recall notification number and is required to respond per installation policy/SOP. May be subject to being interrupted from meal or other work breaks while on duty.
This position is subject to work other than normal duty hours which includ nights, weekends, overtime, and/or holidays to meet mission requirements.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license; and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator's license.
Must carry firearms. Must pass all weapons qualifications prior to assigned duties and responsibilities and must pass all requalifications as required.
Must successfully pass a National Agency Check and local background check.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must be at least 18 years of age.

May be required to respond to off base circumstances as directed by the installation commander, in accordance with United States Marine Corps (USMC) and Department of Defense (DoD) policy.
Must meet medical standards for the Police Officers in DOD 6055.05M and Navy Marine Corps Public Health Center Technical Manual (NMCPHC-TM) OM 6260.
Must be able to use all police equipment, certify in the use of radar detection and alcohol detection equipment, field sobriety tests, expandable or collapsible baton, and obtain other certifications required to accomplish the duties of a law enforcement officer.
If conducting law enforcement operations in navigable waters, must attend the Inland Boat Operator Training Program at Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) or a similar course.
Must successfully complete a designated USMC Police Officers Course of Instruction and meet all certification requirements, to include weapons certifications, CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillators), DOD, and Joint Training Regulations. Training may be conducted at a regional training facility.
Active duty military members MAY apply under this announcement. If selected, appointment eligibility requirements must be met prior to the effective date of appointment.
