This position is located in the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics (G4), Sustainment Automation Support Management Office (SASMO). The primary purpose of this position is to provide automated logistics Standard Army Management Information System (STAMIS) support to all state activities and organizations and a wide range of specialized methods and techniques for planning, analyzing, and identifying problems; and developing and implementing resolutions in the organization, administrative, and systemic programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:
(1) Serves as an advisor to the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist on all Combat Service Support (CSS) STAMIS systems and Automated Logistical Programs. Exercises knowledge and oversight for all matters pertaining to the fielding and operation of STAMIS systems and Automated Logistical Programs.
(2) Serves as a Systems Administrator for all STAMIS systems and Automated Logistical Programs and as the technical expert within the state/territory responsible for providing technical and functional guidance for serviced STAMIS and Automated Logistical Programs. Reviews SASMO Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they are current (i.e. help desk, repair operations, etc.). Evaluates trouble tickets escalated from the help desk, setting priorities on a weekly and monthly basis.
(3) Troubleshoots diagnostics and resolution of technical problems identified in trouble tickets and initial setup of serviced STAMIS computers to include loading software, configuring modem and network card(s), assigning Internet Protocol (IP) addresses with correct subnet, connectivity to the network as required, coordinating with other support personnel and completing technical inspections.
(4) Develops programs to ensure software/interim change packages (SCP/ICP) are applied in proper order. Coordinates and communicates with Department of the Army (DA), National Guard Bureau (NGB), Program Manager, and Customer Assistance Office (CAO), Ft. Lee, VA. regarding CSS operations and automated systems support, problem resolution, software upgrades and change packages. Assists functional users in automated CSS systems management and operation.
(5) Serves as the primary point of contact for Functional Administrators and users of the serviced database(s). Administers the day-to-day database operation and maintenance of the serviced database(s). Performs tests to ensure serviced database(s) efficiently collects, stores, and processes data. Evaluates, determines, and initiates corrective action to recover or restore data and return the database(s) to operational status.
(6) Resolves issues and problems concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of logistical STAMIS administrative and systemic work operations. Utilizes knowledge of logistics management principles, policies, and procedures to implement, establish, and execute operational plans and policies for the logistics STAMIS system. Represents the DCSLOG/G4 as the primary POC responsible for the functional implementation and sustainment of varied automation information management systems.
(7) Provides direction and guidance to supported CSS STAMIS users in the submission of automated systems problem reports and/or change proposals. Establishes procedures for the receipt, review, consolidation, and accounting of system problem reports and engineer change proposals (ECPs) submitted from other SASMO personnel and/or CSS STAMIS users to ensure subsequent distribution to NGB.
(8) Analyzes requirements, establishes programs/procedures ensuring effective coordination on CSS automation hardware systems and peripherals pertaining to the receipt, distribution, installation, and replacement of systems. Performs proper installation, testing and evaluation of CSS systems hardware. Identifies maintenance requirements and coordinates/initiates corrective action.
(9) Directs user-level assistance on STAMIS and Automated Logistical Program operations and automated systems utilization. Develops and implements the coordination and administering of training programs for new and established CSS automated systems. Develops and/or coordinates the development and presentation of specialized training. Conducts training as required.
(10) Serves as the primary point of contact on all CSS automation continuity of operations plan (COOP), development, and execution. Monitors the state automated CSS system network, determining fault isolation, problem resolution, and performance reporting or coordinates with appropriate official for resolution. Coordinates with the Deputy Chief of Staff Information Management (DCSIM) on identifying, developing, establishing and maintaining CSS systems interfaces with and/or CSS utilization of the Reserve Component Automation System (RCAS) as appropriate.
(11) Performs quasi-supervisory duties and responsibilities of the office such as planning overall work operations, setting priorities, and establishing objectives for the mission of the office.
(12) Represents the DCSLOG/G4 in implementing or improving logistical operations through STAMIS systems and Automated Logistical Programs. Serves as primary point of contact for logistical automation projects to include fielding of new equipment and improvements/upgrades to existing STAMIS systems and Automated Logistical Programs. Advise the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist of issues and concerns.
(13) Performs other duties as assigned.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade prior to the effective date of placement. Selectee must also be in a compatible military assignment (MOS/AFSC) prior to or within one year of placement.
