This is an open continuous announcement for Lead Security Guards in several locations. Initial cutoff will be October 16 th 2017. Recruitment will continue through the closing date to fill positions as they become vacant.. Applications are valid for 3 months in the system. Competition for Security Guard positions is restricted by law to persons entitled to Veterans' Preference as long as such applicants are available for appointment.
This announcement covers multiple installations; pay will be set within the range for the installation which you are applying.
Recruitment Incentives and Advanced In-Hire rates MAY be authorized based on location and availability of funds.
Incumbent serves as Lead Security Guard, performing duties of a Security Guard to include installation access, usage of physical access control equipment and visitor access on military installations. Safeguard Government personnel, information, operations, and critical assets in accordance with a wide variety of Federal rules and agency/local regulations/policies.

Provide information to supervisor as requested concerning promotions, reassignments, recognition of outstanding performance, and personnel issues.Operate and maintain the Physical Access Control System (PACS) registrar.
Operate the National Crime Information Center (NCIC/NCICC) terminal in accordance with Federal and State laws.
Verify personal credentials, print visitor passes/badges, create and edit card holder records and run card and/or pass access reports.
Answer brief visitor questions, determine whether appropriate authorization for access exists and provide assistance.
